Visitors are encouraged to reach out for assistance in navigating the museum's resources, which include historical materials and photographs that share the community's stories.

DROP IN CENTRE

Volunteers staff the museum daily from 10 AM to 4 PM from Labor Day until June 1st, and they are available from 11 AM to 3 PM during the winter months. Feel free to stop by for a chat!

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

 

The museum serves as a venue for community gatherings, and a local craft collective offers a selection of high-quality crafts for sale.

DISCUSSIONS  AND WORKSHOPS

At the Mōkau Museum, we offer a variety of engaging opportunities, including talks, events, symposia, workshops, and discussion groups. Each of these activities provides a chance for enriching experiences and meaningful interactions.

Support for people seeking information on whakapapa

Volunteers are on hand to assist with your whakapapa research. The museum is uniquely situated with Maniapoto to the north and Ngati Tama to the south.

Read it, leave it, swap it, take it!  Free books for your reading pleasure can be found in our community phone booth just outside the Museum.

We offer free WIFI and computer time is available at low rates.

We can laminate your precious documents in A5, A4 and A3 sizes.

Genealogy/Whakapapa

Photocopying and Printing Services

Art Gallery

The museum is the ideal place to research your ancestry.

Bring your print material in for copying or we can also print from a USB drive or by sending documents to our email.

Come and browse our fantastic art exhibitions. The museum provides a calm, quiet environment where you can reflect at your leisure.
